Bill & Pam Hannaford started in the jewellery industry in the 1970's in South Australia. Bill, a former National President of the Housing Industry of Australia and Pam (with her love of antiques and keen eye for quality) soon had a thriving jewellery business in Adelaide servicing many celebrity clients such as Liberace.

In the early 1980's Bill, Pam and family moved to Queensland (to retire) for the sunshine & warmer climate. They soon found that the retiree's life was not for them and opened several stores on the Gold Coast including their well-known gallery above the TAB in Surfers Paradise and a spectacular gallery in Orchid Avenue.
In 1993 an opportunity was presented to Bill and Pam to open a store at Pacific Fair. It was about this time that Nicole graduated from St Hilda's school. With her passion for gemstones and her natural flair for design, Nicole certainly was a certainty to work amongst beautiful jewellery. She started working in the business at age 5, where she would answer the telephone, and as a young teenager, she worked weekends and holidays in the stores where people were impressed with her knowledge and sales ability.

Upon graduating from school, Nicole joined her parents full time in running the Pacific Fair Store which opened in May 1994. Not long after the store opened, Nicole completed a Diploma of Gemmology and is a fully qualified and registered Gemmologist and Valuer.
